The IAU provides 20,000 EUR for each Symposium to support participants’ attendance through travel grants and fee waivers. The LOC is seeking additional funding to support more delegates, in particular, students and those who are early in their careers (less than 10 years post-PhD).
The grant application is on the same form as the abstract submission. You must submit an abstract in order to be considered for a travel grant or fee waiver.
More information will be posted here as it becomes available.
This Symposium is dedicated to providing astronomers the tools they need to communicate effectively with their colleagues, funders, policymakers, and other key stakeholders. It is meant to provide a space for science communication researchers and astronomers to bring research to practice through talks, workshops, special sessions, and more.
PLEASE NOTE: This Symposium is not a forum for public outreach activities. If you are interested in highlighting one of your previous outreach activities, please consider submitting an abstract for the 2028 Communicating Astronomy with the Public (CAP) Conference. Abstracts related to discussions of public engagement events and initiatives will not be considered for this Symposium.
