Title: Astronomy without barriers: mapping of demonstratives experiences in Latin America.
The approach between disability and astronomy has scarce and incipient examples in Latin America. Most practices are in relation with the diffusion of science although the inclusion of students and professionals with disabilities, even though is a more exceptional reality in higher education. Within the topic “Learning from Best Practices in Disabilities and Establishing a Framework to Address Equity and Equality in Astronomy Organizations, Facilities and Academic Institutions” we are interested in do a mapping the demonstration experiences by identifying: (1) policies and programs of organizations, facilities and academic institutions; (2) the network of key actors in this process and (3) the pedagogical and technological strategies used in universal design for the teaching of astronomy. The mapping as well as the network of actors will be presented from a digital cartography that allows the observer to interact with the information. The potential to feed this mapping, obtained through research and the creation of an initial database, provides the foundations for the creation of a framework for equity and equality in higher education instances in general and in those related to with astronomy, in particular. This mapping can will be feed the database for the organizations, facilities and academic institutions with data and relevant information.
