Title: A Lunar Phases Model with Light for the Visually Impaired Students
The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the efficiency of the Lunar Phases Model with
Light for the Visually Impaired Students 2) to compare the students achievement before and
after the use of the Lunar Phases Model with Light for the Visually Impaired Students 3) to study
the satisfactions of the visually impaired students on the Lunar Phases Model with Light for the
Visually Impaired Students. The target group was the 4 visually impaired students; which were 3
blind students and 1 low-vision student, in the 6th grade of academic year 2019 at the Northern
Region School for the Blind under the Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, Chiang Mai,
Thailand, selected by using purposive sampling technique. The study instruments included 1) a
set of the Lunar Phases Model with Light for the Visually Impaired Students, which was made
with the 3D printer with different tactile in the different lunar phases and with the light at the
back, so that the blind students can feel the different of each Lunar Phases and the low-vision
students can see the lunar phases from the light. 2) 3 lesson plans 3) 20 item with 4 multiple
choice achievement test 4) 10 item of the students’ satisfactions evaluation
The findings were as follows:
1) The efficiency of the Lunar Phases Model with Light for the Visually Impaired Students
was 85.00/83.75 which was higher than the criteria set at 80/80
2) The students’ learning achievement after learning through the Lunar Phases Model with
Light for the Visually Impaired Students was higher than before learning at the percentage of
40.00
3) The average of students’ satisfactions was above the high level
