Abstract:
It has been 30 years since I reside in Seattle, Washington, USA. I was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa 13 years ago and I am losing my eyesight as years go by.
In my talk, I will present how my life has changed with the intractable disease and the technologies such as PC and iPhone that help daily lives and businesses for visually impaired people.
I will also present my activities in Seattle, Washington as a Board of directors of the United Blind of Seattle, Washington Council of the Blind, and the difference of the acceptance of people with disabilities in American society and Japanese society.

アメリカ、シアトルに在住して30年になります。13年前に網膜色素変性症という難病と診断され、毎年視力が低下しています。現在に至るまでの生活の変化や、PCやiPhoneなどのテクノロジーの活用について、経験をお話しします。
また、ワシントン州盲人協議会 シアトル支部役員として、アメリカで行っている活動を通じ、アメリカと日本の社会における障害者をとりまく環境の違いについてご紹介します。
